We recommend starting your hire from around 36 to 37 weeks, so your machine is with you comfortably ahead of labour. Babies don't always wait for the calendar. The 6-week hire is the most popular because it covers an early or late arrival.
Place the four pads on your lower back as shown on the instruction card, switch the unit on, and gradually increase the intensity as your contractions build. Use the boost button during the peak of each contraction. The earlier you start, the more effective it tends to be.

No, the unit and pads are not waterproof. Remove the TENS before getting into the shower, bath or birth pool. Many clients use the shower or bath in between contractions and pop the TENS back on when they get out.
Yes. TENS is widely accepted in Australian hospitals and birth centres. Always check with your care team beforehand, particularly if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. TENS must not be used if you have a demand-type pacemaker or other implanted electrical device.
While we aim to have your machine with you by your hire start date, we can't guarantee Australia Post delivery times. We recommend choosing a hire start date that leaves plenty of time before your due date. For Ringwood VIC pick-up, we'll be in touch to arrange a time that suits you.
